NEVER LOSE YOUR DATA! | Backblaze Cloud Backup Review

In an age where hard drives are destined to fail, we must implement multiple levels of backup/protection. Regardless of how you use your computer, whether it be for personal or professional use, you’re going to want your data covered. Backblaze cloud backup is an excellent storage solution that will give you the peace of mind you’ve been looking for.

There are countless cloud storage options to backup or store your data to. When choosing what solution you’d like to go with, I suggest you consider these three aspects to look for in a cloud service: Reliability, Security, Customer Service, Longevity. It’s imperative that you pick a service that includes most or all of these factors, in order to properly protect and store your data.

What do you guys think of cloud storage backups? Are you currently subscribed to a similar service?

Nate W Thibodeau says:

They says they “Backup all your data” this is NOT true. They exclude Program Files folders and you can not remove this exclusion. Many programs still keep settings/preferences/config files in their install folder. (Games especially) Also still, folks expecting to have a full system backup, now do not have their programs backup at all. It is very frequent that folks loose or dont keep the install media for that one super important program they use. I use Acronis to made a image backup of my entire C drive, so that I have everything(all my regular data is on secondary non OS drive) but BackBlaze does not allow you to excluded the C drive, so it wasted 4 days backing up that which is pointless to me as it does not contain ALL the data, like my Acronis HDD image does.

Nate W Thibodeau says:

While this service sounds good, in practice, some customers I have recommended it to, has resulted in failure. Since BackBlaze only keeps file version and backup for 30days, the rest being a active “mirror” of your current files, it fails to help you when a computer gets slowly cyrptolocked, which is very common thing this last year or so. I have had 2 customers whose harddrive was slowly, over the cource of more than 30 days, files were being encrypted and locked. Customer did not notice until the virus finally fully finished, then, locked the whole drive and OS. by that time, nearly all of their data on backblaze was also encrypted files and useless. With no way to go back further than 30 days, customer extremely mad at both myself and the company they trusted for backup. One of which is in a lawsuit with backblaze over it. But, hey, u get what u pay for…customer refused the far more expensive online backup solutions as too expensive….
