Messages in iCloud helps you save storage on your iOS or macOS device by uploading your conversations to the cloud. It also synchronizes your messages across devices.

I love iOS and MacOS but don’t care for iMessage.
Facebook Messenger is MUCH better.
Good video but it ends with a falsehood. Deletions of SMS texts do, in fact, sync across devices too. I just confirmed on my iPhone and iPad.
To enable this setting you need 2 factor authentication which apple does not let users in Iran activate.
….. This whole icloud concept seem like another way to tax ios consumers. The fact messages takes space is mind boggling
The downside of Messages in iCloud is it’s no longer easy to find messages containing large attachments and delete those since iCloud storage doesn’t show attachments, only conversations.
2017 macbook pro running high sierra, no such option. neither on iphone 7 plus running 11.4. What now?
You sound like and talk like Jeff from 9to5mac, idownloadblog. Copy or coincidence !?! You’re not talking like this before.
The only thing I don’t understand is that in MacOS, the toggle is hiding in the “Message” app instead of under the iCloud setting as in iOS. This is just dumb.
Thanks for this video. Did you try to sync an iPhone and on two Macs at the same time ? It seems it did not work for me…
Be aware; enabling this feature would give you another point of vulnerability to hackers.
140 GB of photos? Jeez man, what photos did you deposit there?
You keep messages from several years ago? Just no need.
So what about security as it is in the cloud
“alls you have to do” – sounds very unprofessional. It’s just “all” not plural.
I want to enable it but I need to upgrade macOS to 10.13.5 first.
It’s about time for Apple to increase the 5G free iCloud storage.
Another thing to trust iCloud with and governments can read with warrant
Why when I delete off my watch it doesn’t happen on my iPhone
Been thinking about upgrading my iCloud storage to the 50 gb for $1.29. I’m also looking at purchasing my first MacBook, would it be worth it for me to just save the pics to my MacBook storage and delete them from iCloud and save myself the $1.29 a month?
Not worth it might as well jailbreak lmao
Hi, I am not able to sign to iMessage and Facetime on my Macbook Pro. Tried many times but still getting same error everytime “Something went wrong! Please try later” & ”Authentication Error”
Anyone experiencing same issue??
Any Solutions.?
Not sure why your texts messages don’t sync across because mines do
Why don’t I see the suction on my Mac? I’ve upgraded to the latest version already.
Sorry, but that’s not true on my 2015 15″ MBP running High Sierra 10.13.5. When I opened Messages > Preferences > Accounts, there is no “Enable Messages in iCloud” checkbox! And after updating my iPhone 7 to iOS 11.4, I was saddened to see that Apple refuses to let me enable Messages in iCloud unless I enable 2-factory authentication, which I refuse to do.
How do you get your SMS messages to work on your Mac. I haven’t been able to send or receive on the Mac in YEARS. I find iMessage pretty janky these days. Apple is slipping, and I’m still finding bugs in iOS 11 today.
thank god it works with SMS lol
First
I usually set up iMessage to delete anything older than a few months, but I can’t see how I can do that with the messages in the cloud. I don’t need it to save messages for years and take up precious iCloud space. Also letdown that it doesn’t sync non-iMessage messages, since I get a lot of those and manually have to go through my devices to delete them all.
