Clay Shippy says:

I normally use yahoo mail, but if I(I’m on a Mac) I want to click on an email link on site – like I want to send PC Classes an email, it opens “Mail” and gives me an error and I can’t get it to complete sending the e-mail, in fact I have to “Force Quit” Mail. And often on the web page link, they just give a name and not the actual contact e-mail address. If I had the address, I could just cut and paste it into Yahoo Mail, and send it that way. I can’t find any “helps” to resolve this issue. Gmail wants me to change SSL (whatever THAT is) or IMAP – (again ??) – 465? 996? what does all that mean? Where can I get a YouTube tutorial that explains what it wants me to say?

Ravi D says:

Hi, this is a great video. However, I have been looking for an answer to a question and it will be great if you can help please.
I am thinking of adding my gmail and outlooks accounts to the ios mail on iphone. I already have many folders in both my gmail and outlook accounts to keep things organised and i dont want them to get distorted or to disappear. My question is :-
Will my gmail and outlook folders remain intact as is if I add these email accounts to ‘mail’ app / client on ios ?
This will be the first time i will try it. Look forward to hearing from you.

Lita Ziang says:

what about the TONS OF SPACE the apple mail takes??

Chick Chapman says:

Really useful and succinct.  Much more to Mail than I would have guessed.  Mille graze

Terrence Lemire says:

There is a feature I used to have when I worked for a large company that I found very useful but doesn’t seem to be available in Mac mail. It is called read receipt. It was very useful when corresponding with co-workers on different shifts so you could know if the opened your message. I have some family contact which are notorious for not responding to messages I have sent, and I can’t tell if they are just ignoring me or they just haven’t gone into their email account recently. This option would at least let me know that they opened my message, and as the name suggests, you would receive an email style receipt telling you that this email was read on such and such a day. I am not sure if this was internal to that company or just because I was using a windows PC at that time.
Can you comment on this David?

Michael Redford says:

This should be watched by ANYONE using apple mail. WOW Really good stuff all the way through.

rafael jimenez says:

Thank you very much for the video. I would like to know how to double space what I am writing when sending a email?

Armando Rodriguez says:

I can’t believe all of this info is for free thank you very much

Katina Martinez says:

Great class as always David – thank you so much. Most of these things I already knew, but I was looking for information on how to get contacts you know to stop going into the junk folder. Yes I have added them to my “address book” they still go to my junk folder, and all day I’m moving important emails from junk to inbox.
I did look how to do this through Apple and got that answer – simply add senders name to contact, and did check my the preferences to make sure that box was checked…
Any advice – or help??? I LOVE using the Mac Mail feature, but this is the only thing that drives me crazy.

Jay Fernanadez says:

referring to 38:37 I cannot seem to find/ move the little dot on the right hand side that moves the message window size. the little one sided arrow shows up but when I move it nothing happens?

Torták és Mézesek says:

Hello David – thank you for another informative video.
I have a question regarding Junk folder on Mac, if you don’t. I have been using Mac mail for a while but a day ago or so, my Mail icon in the dock started showing a number of unread messages. There were no unread messages in my Inbox, while my Junk folder was completely empty. It seems that my Junk mail does not reach the Junk folder. Could you please help? Thank you in advance for your time, Judit.

Vulcan Viper says:

11:02 I would just use DocuSign. I used it for something important, and it was accepted.
11:40 You don’t look that bad to me.
13:40 I report spam either to SpamCop or to I even made a script for it, so all I have to do is select the spam, hit the script, and I’m done.
20:36 I have that switched off, but junk mail is still filtered. There’s a rule you can use which is supposed to override that, but it does not work.
40:45 I think you meant “It’s gonna show that every e-mail has an *attachment*”.
41:23 I think you meant “It’s gonna reply to *from* whichever…”.
43:35 That went over my head.
43:43 Not obvious to me.
53:31 What happened there?
